Anyone noticed a change in the behaviour of their teenage daughters recently ? A certain affinity for Zayn, Liam, Harry, Louis & Niall – yes you too have a daughter who has One Infestation, sorry One Infection – No One Direction….. The latest in Simon Cowell’s hit factory (having driven past his house in Beverly Hills last year he may also need a quid or two). I have been told by a reliable source that 1D will be bigger than the Beatles, although more than likely maybe a poor mans Monkees (although they may not be remembered as fondly in future – RIP Davy Jones).
It was only 18 months ago that Our Lauren loved Zac Efron, but now he is yesterday’s news & 1D is all that matters to Lauren & her friends. Not an hour would go by before my wife Silvia & I hear about it, her bedroom walls are plastered with their posters & she has devoured their biography.
So with an Australian tour slated for September 2013 all we have heard about all week is getting tickets when they went on sale on 28/4. Lauren & I spent 1.5 hours on Saturday in my office hitting refresh on the Ticketek website every 20 seconds. In the time we sat on the net a 3rd concert was released (with capacity of 8.000 this means a total of up to approx. 24,000 tickets being sold) before finally getting the golden tickets for her & her friends & reconfirming my latest entry in the Father Of The Year competition !!!
