20 Apr 10 Albums You Should Listen To Before You Shuffle Off This Mortal Coil (& I Don’t Mean “Everyday Shuffling”) – Something For Everybody Here
Well yesterday I had Primal Scream & their classic Screamadelica, so I will hasten to add this to the list as a starter

As a second choice lets add another UK band from the same/similar era – The Happy Mondays – Pills, Thrills & Bellyaches. Whilst they are not well known in Australia, you will not be disappointed

Another English band next – Tubeway Army/Gary Numan – Replicas. Everyone will remember Are Friends Electric, but the album is the last that melded guitars with synths, before the next LP was total synths

Chris Cornell – Songbook. Recorded on his solo North American Tour in 2011. I was lucky enough to be part of the audience at his show at the Filmore in San Francisco in May 2011. The Man’s range & power in his voice is amazing & his ability to carry a song with only an acoustic guitar is phenomenal. The only downfall with the LP is that it doesn’t have his version of The Beatles “A Day In The Life” – which was worth the price of admission alone in San Fran – Enjoy !!!

Motley Crue – Motley Crue. Self Titled LP recorded with John Corabi. Overlooked & underrated from the Mid 1990′s. Check out the 1st 4 tracks & tell me you haven’t heard a better opening to a hard rock LP. Vince Neil (even though I luv ya Vince) can’t rock with Corabi.

The Brian Jonestown Massacre – touring Australian in May 2012. Check out Who Killed St. Pepper. But really these guys are nuts & buying 1 of their LP’s is like buying $5 of mixed lolllies – you don’t know what you are going to get

Alter Bridge – Alter Bridge 3 – Myles Kennedy is the only Man who can go vocal to vocal with Chris Cornell. Check this LP out or check his work out with Slash – new LP to be released 20/5/11 – Apocalyptic Love (Can’t Wait !!!!)

Peaches – I Feel Cream. One of the best & most entertaining live acts that I have ever seen. Not a record for the kiddies though (AO/MA 15+ rated definitely). Standout tracks – Billionaire & Mommy Complex

Alice Cooper – Special Forces. Maybe I am just an Alice Cooper tragic, but I love this LP. What makes it even better is that Alice cannot remember writing or recording this or the next LP as he was deep into his addiction & wasting away (Don’t believe me – check out clips on You Tube from France for this LP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5K9GblazA0 . Standout tracks – Who Do You Think You Are, You’re A Movie, Prettiest Cop On The Block
Kraftwerk – Minimum/Maximum. If you just want to chill out & relax, put on this live LP. All their hits
